After eighteen days in hospital, from the point where she was near death to the long road back to healthy. Life was forever changed. Angelica was, following a full half-year of dialysis, and one year half-year of dialysis, was now set for the most significant operation of all: a kidney replacement. The kidney she would receive from her mom. In September 2013, Angelica and her mom underwent a successful kidney transplantation surgery at two remarkable hospitals close to each other: the Memory University Hospital as well as Children's Health of Atlanta Egleston.
